Cute Crochets

50 Amazing and Cute FREE Crochet Butterfly Pattern Images

My schedule was too busy to complete real projects lately. So I repaired the hook by whisking these tiny butterflies of all colors. Round? Use embroidery thread. It’s available in every conceivable color, it’s the perfect size for small accessories, and it’s cheap. They are perfect for cards, scrapbooking pages, hair clips, they would even be cute on the front of a baby stramp or cap.

Below are my original models on how to crochet a butterfly. If you know a hook, it will take you about 3 minutes. If you’re a beginner, check out our How to Crochet a Flower and How to Crochet a Heart. The butterfly is essentially a four-petal flower with the same stitches as the heart. The only point not displayed is the DTR (double treble) used in the middle pattern, which you can see on this page. Here are templates for five different sizes of butterflies that measure approximately 1 to 4 inches, although the size of your documents and your ad can easily change size.

To create the belly and antennae, cut a piece of wire or coordinating wire about 4 to 6 inches long (depending on the size of your butterfly). Leave a short tail, wrap the piece twice around the center of the butterfly. The tie ends in a double knot. Cut the antennas.
